He-Man (2026)
If you walk into this movie expecting a dark, gritty fantasy epic like Game of Thrones with barbarians, you're probably gonna leave disappointed. 😂 This movie leans way more into the fun, colorful, over-the-top Saturday morning cartoon energy. Once I accepted that, I actually had a good time.
I enjoyed it, and I'm definitely hoping for a sequel. I REALLY want a sequel. 💪🏾 Although with the way Hollywood has been moving lately...watch them send Part 2 straight to Netflix, Prime Video, or Hulu. 🤦🏾♂️🤣
My biggest issue was the casting. The actor playing Prince Adam just didn't scream "He-Man" to me. In my mind, He-Man is supposed to look like somebody who bench presses mountains before breakfast. 😂 I always imagined the biggest blond-haired, blue-eyed dude they could find. Then again...if you're literally the strongest man in the universe, I guess muscles don't come with a required hairstyle. 🤷🏾♂️
The movie also leaned a little too hard on the comedy. A joke here and there is cool, but sometimes it felt like Marvel syndrome where everybody has to crack a joke every five minutes. That's a lot of damn positive
And Man-at-Arms being a drunk? Yeah...I wasn't feeling that at all.
One thing Hollywood keeps doing that gets on my nerves is randomly changing established characters. Don't get me wrong—I absolutely love seeing people who look like me on screen. Representation matters. I just wish studios would create new legendary characters instead of constantly remixing old ones. That's where my mixed feelings come from.
Now Skeletor...that's still MY guy. 😂 He's one of my favorite villains ever. This man had his face magically melted off and basically survived through pure hatred and stubbornness. That's next-level commitment. Sure, he talks like the king of evil dad jokes, but when only ONE person in the universe can actually beat you, you've earned the right to be as dramatic as you want. 🤣
At the end of the day, this movie is basically about believing in yourself...right after pulling a giant magical sword out of your own chest. 😐 Nothing says "self-confidence" quite like medieval self-surgery. That's a lot of Positive Affirmation, lol 🤣🤣🤣
