Do you find that the 50-30-20 rule actually works
I imagine most people here are familiar with this budgeting model, but if not it says:
50% of your income should go to needs
30% of your income should go to wants
20% of your income should go to savings.
It probably varies slightly depending on who you ask, but that's the bulk of it.
Do you think this rule actually works well? How does your spending break out into these 3 buckets? Do you think another method of planning a budget makes more sense in 2025?

I’ve heard of this method and I think that on paper it works out really well however I’ve been finding it hard to save due to the cost of living as well as what jobs are offering as pay to employees. It’s simply not enough for me currently.
