In your opinion
For me:
Because you can text your friends whilst you are away from them you're no longer 'forced' to interact with the people around you and build relationships. You live in your own bubble and you don't know how toxic that can be until it hits you in the face.
Do you use TikTok to chat or share videos? Among all the apps you use for chatting, which one takes up the largest proportion?
Social media platforms have transformed the way we interact with each other, often creating an illusion of connection while fostering isolation. By providing the ability to communicate instantly, apps like TikTok and Instagram can lead users to prioritize online interactions over face-to-face relationships. This shift can change social dynamics, making it easy to fall into the trap of superficial connections. Users frequently underestimate the negative impact of this trend on their mental health and well-being. Research suggests that while social media can augment communication, it also erodes the quality of relationships. Authentic engagement tends to suffer when people rely heavily on digital methods to communicate. The phenomenon of FOMO (fear of missing out) can further exacerbate feelings of loneliness and inadequacy, despite the appearance of constant connectivity. It's essential to balance online interactions with in-person relationships to maintain a healthy social life. Mindfulness about the time spent on social media and the quality of those interactions can lead to a more fulfilling social experience. Encouraging discussions and interactions in real life could serve as a counterbalance to the digital interactions that often define our daily lives.
