Captain America: Brave New World Discussion
So its bad, goes without saying. It feels bad in a new way where the last couple of films suffered from being at the tail end of a glut of MCU movies and being too weighed down by simply being part of the MCU, this movie introduces an entirely new problem of feeling like the people making it fully no longer care. It genuinely has the vibe and aesthetics of a straight to Netflix film. The laziness on show is kind of shocking given the budget, theres a location they reuse throughout thats meant to be a high security prison which consists entirely of a whitewashed hallway in what honestly looks like an old school.
I really think the TV shows are what killed the MCU. If they put their creative energy into a couple of great films every year, this thing could keep going for decades. But they oversaturated the market with complete bullshit that no one cares about (but you still need to watch it to know what's happening). Seriously, why would you take the story of a new Captain America assuming the mantle, and squander it on an awful Disney+ show, instead of just having that be the story of the next Captain America film?

I personally like the TV shows! But I do think they should’ve ended each character at their respective stories. I didn’t want to see a NEW captain America…I already had mine 🥲
