Was I wrong?
Waited for the elevator with my friend, we were first in line. When it arrived, ppl behind us cutting in like the doors were closing in 5 seconds. I blurted out, “Why rush? There’s plenty of room”. A woman spoke back, “Who’s cutting？I wasn’t!” My friend chimed in, “We were ahead of you.” She retorted, “The door’s wide open, I can enter how I want!” Turns out, she and her family surrounded us in the elevator. No cameras inside. My friend pulled me aside afterward: “Did you notice they boxed us in?”. Luckily, nothing happenned. I wasn’t that bothered by the cutting, but speaking up put us in a vulnerable spot. Was asserting etiquette worth the risk in a confined space? Sometimes, picking your battles matters more than being “right.” Thoughts?
