Did I cross a line but he kicked seats & screamed.
I was headed on a holiday trip and once I sat in my seat, I noticed kids in front of us, their mom was in the next row over. The older ones (10 yo something) were totally chill but the youngest was screaming if he didn’t get his way, ignoring his mom when she told him to quiet down or stay seated for takeoff, even kicking the back of the seat in front.
I was so annoyed I just stared at the people next to me like can you believe this? She was trying, but it wasn’t working. Takeoff happened, he got his iPad and watched cartoons. But when we landed, we sat forever on the tarmac and he lost it. Screaming, throwing a fit… It hit my limit. So I sat up, looked at him, and said, “Hey, buddy shut up, yeah?”
He was scared and his mom was like “He’s just a kid!” Twice. Honestly, I did the cabin a solid, even his brother said “I mean, she’s not wrong… but maybe not nice?” Would you have done it too? Was I out of line?
