One of the things I’ve learned is how crucial time management is. There are moments when patients need to reschedule, which can throw off the flow of care, creating challenging gaps or unexpected rushes. It’s common to feel tired toward the end of the day, especially after continuous patient care, but the satisfaction of helping maintain someone’s oral health keeps me going. I've also noticed that waiting periods, either between patients or due to scheduling changes, can be a great opportunity to catch up on notes or prepare for the next case. Sharing my daily routine helps others understand the behind-the-scenes of dental hygiene. From sterilizing equipment to educating patients on dental care, every step matters. I embrace each day with the intention of making a positive impact on my patients’ lives, even on those days when exhaustion sets in. If you are considering a career in dental hygiene or are simply curious, following a typical day like mine can provide valuable insight into the profession.
