Lent 2026
I’ve been thinking about Lent a lot this year.
A few years ago, I stopped taking things away and started adding. In theory, this was great. But in my season of life, it became a burden.
And that certainly wasn’t bringing me closer to God.
This year, I’m focusing on living in my purpose and treating my body well.

Lent is often seen as a season of giving up something, but over time, many of us find that adding positive, intentional habits can lead to deeper spiritual and personal growth. In my experience preparing for Lent 2026, I shifted from the traditional mindset of sacrifice to one of renewal—resetting priorities and focusing on holistic well-being. By choosing goals that nourish both body and soul, such as committing to daily movement, drinking enough water, and setting healthy boundaries like closing the kitchen early or limiting phone use before bedtime, we create space to hear God’s voice more clearly. Spiritual growth during Lent is deeply personal, and it’s essential to find what brings us closer to God in our current life season. For some, this means creating and sharing art inspired by faith; for others, it might be journaling, prayer, or community engagement. Incorporating small daily practices, such as posting an encouraging message or reflection on social media, can help maintain focus and connection throughout the 40 days. This balanced approach to Lent encourages rediscovery and caregiving—not only toward others but also toward oneself. It’s a chance to shine God's light through our actions and to embody faith in practical ways.
