“I will be at Essence.”
At 18, I dreamed of becoming a journalist for ESSENCE Magazine. I imagined sitting on panels, telling stories, and inspiring women. Life took me into healthcare instead, and for a while I thought that dream had passed me by.
Now, 18 years later, I’m one week away from the Essence Festival of Culture.
This year, I’ll be a panelist at the Glambitious Brunch Experience and will be interviewed on a podcast during Essence weekend.
The dream didn’t happen the way I imagined—but it still happened.
