My Easter Puppy memory
I was still an only child at the time, and we lived in Oklahoma City. Based on pictures I know that a puppy came before me, a little black poodle, maybe Brown, and based on the pictures that puppy had passed on at this time, and I feel like my little bitty self missed that puppy. I already loved all dogs, I used to hug my great grandmother's large ceramic dog any chance I could.
This one particular Easter, a miracle happened at my house. Somehow, a little puppy found its way into our garage just in time for Easter morning and they let me play with that puppy all day. There's video footage somewhere of me and a little Easter dress with a basket hunting for eggs with this new friend, competing with me for eggs and treats. We had the best day! We all wondered, did the Easter Bunny bring me this friend? Was it a gift from above to bring joy and laughter and to help us believe in miracles and answered prayers?
The Easter Puppy wasn't meant to stay, so it went to a new home soon after. But that happy, miracle Easter day lives in my heart forever, and now, as I revisit these memories, I see them from a new perspective. I'm fairly certain I manifested that little puppy for that Easter day of wonder and fun.
While I don't have that video to share, I'll share my current Easter puppy with you today, Elvis, the star of this show with his golden egg.
