✨Pretty bakery in nyc—
Ando patisserie is a cute french inspired patisserie with asian flavors and ingredients 🤍 it has just opened in Williamsburg with a more spacious seating area.
the menu is endless and i initially cannot choose. each dessert is beautifully made 🧁
i tried—
✨black sesame cream crepe roll ($16): black sesame cream is intense. they do not skimp on black sesame powder. however, the crepe and cream is not sweet at all; almost bland. i usually like not-too-sweet dessert, but this one is literally creamy and nutty only.
✨ hojicha puding ($10): i love this pudding. hojicha is very fragrant. it is very lightly sweetened. it comes with different layers of goodness.
it sure is on a pricier side for desserts. there are wifi and restroom available. this is perfect to chill, people watch and enjoy sweetness 🫶🏻

Stepping into Ando Patisserie in Williamsburg was like finding a little slice of dessert heaven, blending Parisian elegance with unexpected Asian flavors. I'd heard whispers about this cute new spot, and as a fellow dessert enthusiast, I had to check it out myself. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the spacious and minimalist interior. It’s not your typical cramped NYC bakery; there's ample modern seating, surrounded by lovely plants that create such a serene and inviting atmosphere. It honestly feels like the perfect place to unwind, whether you’re meeting a friend, catching up on some work with their available WiFi, or just people-watching while enjoying a sweet treat. The decor is so thoughtfully put together – minimal yet warm, making it an ideal spot for a relaxed afternoon. The dessert display case was a true spectacle. Every single item was beautifully crafted, making it incredibly hard to choose! Beyond the black sesame cream crepe roll and the hojicha pudding I eventually tried, my eyes were drawn to so many other tempting options. They had intriguing selections like lava cheese tarts, osmanthus oolong cakes, Thai tea mousses, and even durian desserts for the adventurous palate. I even spotted some adorable mini pumpkins adorning some of the seasonal offerings, which added such a charming touch. It really highlights their commitment to both traditional and innovative flavors. If you're overwhelmed by the choices, don't be afraid to ask the staff for recommendations based on your preferences – they're usually happy to guide you through their extensive menu. Speaking of what I tried, the hojicha pudding was definitely a highlight. It was incredibly fragrant, with that distinctive roasted tea aroma, and perfectly lightly sweetened – a dream for anyone who appreciates subtle, nuanced flavors. It had so many delightful layers, making each spoonful an experience. The black sesame cream crepe roll, while visually stunning with its intricate layers of black crepe and swirled cream, was a bit of a surprise for me. The black sesame cream itself was incredibly intense and authentic, but as mentioned, it leaned very much on the savory, nutty side without much sweetness. If you're someone who prefers desserts that aren't sugary at all, you might adore it. For me, I usually enjoy a hint more sweetness, even in a 'not-too-sweet' dessert, but its uniqueness was undeniable. It’s definitely a dessert that challenges your palate in a good way, offering a pure, unadulterated black sesame experience. Now, let's talk about the price. Yes, it's on the pricier side for desserts, but given the quality of ingredients, the artistry in presentation, and the overall ambiance, I felt it was a worthwhile splurge for a special treat or a lovely afternoon out. Plus, having a clean restroom and reliable WiFi available definitely adds to the overall value of the experience, allowing you to truly settle in and enjoy your time. Next time, I'm absolutely trying one of their lava cheese or osmanthus oolong creations – they looked divine! Ando Patisserie is a must-visit if you're in Williamsburg looking for a unique dessert experience that marries French technique with exciting Asian ingredients.
