Caring for House Plants (below…)

I used to kill my plants years ago, but since I started doing these 3 things I’ve had healthy, happy plants:

1. Water ON A ROUTINE. It’s so easy to forget if you don’t have a dedicated day. For me, I work from home on Thursdays, so every Thursday I make sure to water all my plants.

2. Fertilize. About once a month I’ll mix in “Feed & Grow” to my watering can.

3. Keep dead leaves cut back. This not only helps the plant (because it’s now not trying to give nutrients and water to a dying part) but also makes your plants look a million times better! #plantsforbeginners #planttherapy #plantsarehealing #plantlifestyle

... Read moreCaring for house plants can be a rewarding hobby, providing both aesthetic pleasure and numerous health benefits. Proper house plant care includes understanding the specific needs of each variety you own, such as light requirements, watering frequency, and preferred humidity levels. House plants like succulents thrive in drier conditions, while tropical plants may require regular misting or higher humidity. Research shows that indoor plants can improve air quality by filtering toxins, enhance mood, and even increase productivity. To ensure your house plants flourish, consider rotation to maximize light exposure, using pots with drainage holes to prevent overwatering, and paying attention to growing seasons. During winter months, many plants enter a dormant state, requiring less water and feeding. Engaging with plant care communities, both online and offline, can provide inspiration and support. Sharing success stories and challenges can enhance your experience and knowledge about plant therapy, which many enthusiasts believe contributes to mental well-being. House plant care can also be a wonderful gateway into gardening, expanding your skills into outdoor environments. Explore your local area for gardening workshops or plant swaps to elevate your care routine further!

Absolutely! I would add, be on the lookout for pests. I have a lot of succulents, and boy, if they don’t LOVE sucking the life juices out of them. . . . Homemade spray to the rescue.
