The boys and Delilah 🩵

Living with a multi-cat household is truly an adventure, and my trio – Delilah, Avery, and Greyson – certainly keeps life interesting! One of the best decisions we ever made was building our outdoor catio. Seeing Delilah, my beautiful torbie girl with those striking green eyes, finally venture out and stretch on the blue woven rug, or perch on the wooden shelf looking out at the evergreen tree, was so rewarding. It’s been amazing to see her transform from initially cautious to really enjoying her outdoor time. If you’re considering an outdoor space for your indoor cats, I can’t recommend a catio enough for providing safe enrichment and a whole new world of smells and sights! It's not always sunshine and purrs, though. With different personalities, you're bound to have some tussles, just as Delilah and the younger boys frequently do. We've learned that providing plenty of resources – multiple feeding stations, water bowls, and cozy sleeping spots – helps a lot. For example, Avery and Greyson love to play on their white knitted blanket, but sometimes they need their own space. Observing their body language and understanding their individual needs has been key to keeping the peace. It's a journey, but finding that balance where everyone feels secure and loved is so worth it. Speaking of individual needs, Avery has been especially clingy with Nick lately, missing him terribly when he travels. It's heartwarming (and a little humbling for me, being secondary!) to see that special bond. Just seeing Avery nestled in a box on Nick's lap when he's home reminds me how deeply cats connect with their favorite humans. Greyson, on the other hand, is my constant shadow, always laying with me on the couch. And Delilah? She's mastered the art of the adorable head-bunt, demanding pets while I work. Each cat has their unique way of showing affection, and learning to recognize those subtle cues makes our bond even stronger. Even with all this joy, there are moments I still miss my Bentley boy. It’s a bittersweet feeling, but knowing my heart is full with my three grey boys and my sweet torbie girl Delilah, brings so much comfort. Every day is a reminder of the unconditional love and endless entertainment cats bring into our lives.
