Three tips for your small business

1. Don’t over think it!!

We used to have meetings just to talk about packaging. Colors, free gifts, sizes, personalized mailers, and more. Until we realized we were talking about packaging more than we were sending out packages!

Once we got out of our heads we realized people don’t want our packages to look uniform, boring and corporate. They want to receive a package personalized, handmade and magical. Spending our time filling packages with joy and DIYing to the Gods has become much more profitable…. and much more fun!

2. Don’t rush the process!

Our products are all handmade, farm fresh, and made in small batches which can mean we run out of products quite regularly between harvests and processing.

We used to think “how can we keep this stock up and make the most profit?” We used to rush around trying to make sure everything was perfect and not putting our full essence into the product itself.

Almost two years ago we’ve changed to a more relaxed approach, understanding that taking our time and making sure we’re putting the most into our work is more important than stock running low. Things run out and will be replenished again, an approach that mimics the plants we’re working with. And that’s okay!

We’ve realized people don’t mind stocking up and waiting for nature to return, that’s what comes natural to us anyway!

3. Be able to change and adapt.

With an ever changing market and audience it’s important to be able to adapt with what’s in demand, with changing goals and with what feels right intuitively. If something isn’t working it’s okay to let it go and start anew! With that being said its also important to give a reminder that even though markets change if some thing isn’t resonating with your soul, your shouldn’t go for it. Just because something is trending doesn’t make it right or for you! So be able to change, but be confident to lead with your heart, intuition, and with what’s right!

Starting a small business/side hustle!
This weekend I took a big step and did what I called a sample sale where I let people try desserts i’m interested in selling to let me know what they’d think about them. I received great feedback ( even got my first order) and I think I’m ready to move forward and make a business page and website..
