⭐️Overall rating: 5/5: best ending I’ve read in a while very spicy 🥵

Hadn’t done my review yet because I couldn’t think about this book without getting angry and a certain character lol but overall this book is the best and weirdest love triangle I’ve read so far would definitely recommend

... Read moreOkay, so my initial review for Credence by Penelope Douglas was brief because, honestly, I was still reeling! But now that I've had a moment to process, I really want to dive deeper into why this book earned a solid 5/5 from me, despite some moments that made me want to throw my e-reader across the room – in the best way possible, of course! Let's talk about the 'weirdest love triangle' first. When I say weird, I mean unique and utterly captivating. Without giving away crucial plot points, the dynamic between the characters isn't your typical 'choose one' scenario. It delves into a much more complex and often taboo exploration of relationships. For those wondering, 'is Credence reverse harem?', it's not a straightforward answer. While there are multiple male interests and a strong female lead, the emotional and physical connections explored go beyond the conventional reverse harem trope, venturing into a more intense and often dark polyamorous material. It's less about collecting partners and more about a deep, often unsettling, bond forged under extraordinary circumstances. This complexity is what truly sets it apart and makes it so memorable. Penelope Douglas's writing style here is simply masterful. She has a way of crafting tension that is palpable, pulling you into the characters' raw emotions and difficult choices. Her prose is direct and unflinching, especially when it comes to the 'spicy' scenes. These aren't just thrown in for shock value; they're integral to the character development and the intense relationships being built. She doesn't shy away from the darker aspects of human nature or the morally gray areas, which is a hallmark of her work. For example, the way she builds up the isolation and dependence among the characters creates a psychological depth that's incredibly engaging. You genuinely feel their desperation and their growing attachments. This analytical approach to her style is what makes her books, including *Credence*, so addictive. And that ending? Oh my goodness. My original post mentioned it was 'the best ending I’ve read in a while,' and I stand by that wholeheartedly. It’s not just spicy; it’s incredibly satisfying in its resolution, yet leaves you with plenty to ponder. It ties up loose ends while still embracing the unconventional nature of the story, giving the characters the ending they truly earned through all their trials. It's a testament to Douglas's ability to deliver a powerful conclusion that resonates long after you've turned the final page. If you're looking for a book that challenges your perceptions of love, loyalty, and family, and you're not afraid of intense, emotionally charged, and very spicy material, then Credence is an absolute must-read. It’s a powerful exploration of human connection that will provoke strong reactions, whether it's anger or adoration for its characters – sometimes both simultaneously!
