When they say you are too much…

…. Tell them to go find less. The person that is meant for you will never think you are too much. In fact, they will love you just the way you are. Imagine being loved for who you are and not having to shrink yourself to someone you’re not to appease the person who you have given full access to you. Some people find out they aren’t compatible later in a relationship. Other times it’s a person saying it for control and this could be for several reasons. An example is they are insecure bc you actually are a bright light and they want to dim you down so they don’t lose you. (Which is NOT ok) Another example could be they are intimidated by your vibrant personality and may be jealous. Either way no one should try to change you for their own feelings they are responsible for. Be you! Be bright! Let that personality light up a room. #Lemon8Diary #fyp #gofindless #beyourself

... Read moreI've personally experienced being told that my energy and personality were "too much". At first, it felt like I needed to tone down who I was just to keep the peace or maintain a relationship. But over time, I realized that those who truly care don’t want you to shrink yourself—they celebrate the full spectrum of who you are. Often, when someone claims you are "too much," it stems from their own insecurities or jealousy. Maybe your confidence intimidates them, or your light shines brighter than they expect. Recognizing this has been empowering for me because it shifted the control back to me. No one has the right to dim your brightness or ask you to be less vibrant simply because they can't handle your glow. It's important to remember that genuine compatibility comes from mutual acceptance and respect. If someone tries to make you feel you're "too much" to manage or love, it’s often a signal that they’re not the right match. Loving yourself and being unapologetically you attracts the right people—those who appreciate your uniqueness and encourage you to grow. In the context of dealing with a narcissistic ex or any controlling relationship, this message is even more vital. Narcissists often try to manipulate or control by belittling your personality or making you doubt yourself. Understanding that their criticism is more about their issues than your worth is liberating. In my journey, embracing my true self brought immense relief and happiness. I stopped shrinking to fit others’ expectations and started living authentically. If you find yourself being told you're "too much," tell them to "go find less," because you deserve someone who loves all parts of you without reservation.
