…. As I read every line to this I got chills. My whole thought process changed on apologies. People think that “I’m sorry” should be good enough when lying cheating abusing. It keeps happening bc they know (well think) they just have to apologize and everything will go right back to how things were prior to their wrong doings. Accountability is action. It’s showing how you are actually apologetic. That it affects you knowing you hurt your loved one to the point it pushes you to change. THIS is the real apology. If they promise not to hurt you again but show no motivation to change their habits, behaviors or actions. Honey, they will repeatedly hurt you until you finally leave or they make effort to change for you but most importantly themselves. Who wants to be in their 30s, 40s still lying and stuff like they did as teenagers or young adults. Really look into this re read it a couple times.
