Does your family play monopoly?
Tell me your strategy to win! I have never won! Also, does anyone else think this game lasts foreverrrr?! #letschat #monopoly #familygamenight
You know, one of the first questions we always have before a Monopoly game is 'how many people can actually play this thing?' Officially, Monopoly is designed for 2 to 8 players. In my experience, 4-6 players is the sweet spot. With just two, it can feel a bit drawn out, and with 7 or 8, the board gets really crowded, and turns take forever! But hey, if you have a big family or a group of friends, more the merrier, right? Before you even set up, what do you need to play Monopoly? You'll need the classic game board, the iconic tokens, dice, property deeds, Chance and Community Chest cards, green houses, red hotels, and of course, plenty of colorful Monopoly money! It's all about that initial setup, getting those properties ready for action. The objective is simple: be the last player standing with all the money! So, how do you actually play Monopoly? Everyone starts at 'GO,' rolls the dice, and moves their token around the board. Landing on an unowned property lets you buy it. If someone else owns it, you pay rent. The real strategy comes in when you start collecting monopolies – that is, all properties of the same color group. That's when you can start building houses and hotels, and the rent really starts to rack up. Passing 'GO' gets you more money, and landing on Chance or Community Chest can be a blessing or a curse! It's such a fun, competitive game that often brings out everyone's inner real estate mogul. Speaking of strategy, let's talk about those coveted red properties: Kentucky Avenue, Indiana Avenue, and Illinois Avenue. These are often considered some of the best properties to own in the game because they're frequently landed on, especially after players pass 'GO' or get out of Jail. They offer a great return on investment, particularly when you get a full set and start building houses and hotels. I always try to snag these if I can; they're total game-changers! Playing Monopoly around the table with family and friends is more than just a game; it's an experience. We've had so many laughs, some intense negotiations, and yes, a few friendly arguments over the years! My biggest tip? Don't be afraid to trade! Sometimes giving up a less critical property can help you complete a valuable color set. And always try to build houses as quickly as possible – that's where you'll really make your money. Oh, and try not to go bankrupt too early; it's a long game! But the joy of family game night, with everyone gathered around the board, is truly priceless. Just try not to flip the table when someone lands on your hotel-filled Boardwalk!

I played monopoly once and we played for 6 hours before calling it quits and going to sleep! I used to collect a bunch of them but gave them to different charities because of how long it takes to properly play it.
