Dear Mama’s….
This is my youngest babe. I’m a mama to 3 and let me tell you that while I LOVE being a mama. It has NOT been easy or without challenges. I remember when this sweet girl of mine was an infant and wouldn’t sleep. I remember her temper tantrums and how it took me 3 hours to get her to sit for 3 minutes of time out. (Oh yes, this mama was persistent and consistent. I kept putting her back in time out and would reset the clock every time she threw herself on the floor or ran off. Persistency is KEY.) I remember so many sleepless nights with all of my kiddos. I remember thinking that i was going to be stuck in that season of life forever. Where the days were long and the nights even longer. Now that my kiddos are older and I’ve reflected back… It all went by in a flash! No longer do i miraculously cure boo-boos, make many voices when reading books, create food out of play dough, race cars or have fashion shows with L.O.L. dolls. Now i shuffle them around to activities/sports, hear about middle/high school drama and listen to endless trumpet playing, cheer routines and view the meme of the week. It’s all going by so fast and it’s just bittersweet. When they were younger I didn’t cherish the moments enough or savor them like i should have. I learned from that mistake and i truly try to cherish everyday. This season is going by much quicker than i would ever want. Tonight was her first formal dance of 8th grade. She looks so much like me and makes me so proud.
