I always enjoy James Patterson’s writing. They’re always easy, fun reads that take me on a run adventure. The Picasso Heist is no exception. There were so many twists and surprises. Every time I thought I knew where things were going things derailed and went into a completely other direction. Halston was ballsy and smart and I truly hope the ending means that we will get more books for her and her family. Skip was fantastic and the surprises involving him always took things to the next level. And the side characters? We have both the Bulgarian and Italian mafias, a top fashion designer, FBI agents, as well as prominent members of the art community. There were so many moving pieces that there were times I turned back to previous parts of the story. This book was fast paced and the action literally didn’t stop. Again, I really hope this isn’t the last we hear from Halston!

It’s a perfect example of what he does best, but with an added layer of sophistication thanks to the art world setting and the deeply intelligent heist mechanics. And can we talk about the cover? I saw an image of it, and the golden ornate frame with the shattered title perfectly captures the essence of the story – beautiful, valuable art, disrupted and broken, hinting at the chaos and deception within. It’s a stunning visual metaphor for the entire experience. Knowing that The Picasso Heist is Coming in October 2025 makes me even more excited for everyone else to read it. If you're into intricate heist thrillers, clever protagonists, and a story that will keep you guessing until the very last page, trust me, you need to pre-order this one. I'm already eagerly hoping for more adventures with Halston and her crew!
