Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones
“Reyes Alexander Farrow—the part-human, part-supermodel son of Satan—materialized behind me, his powerful shoulders glistening as steam rose around him, giving the impression he’d just come from hell. He hadn’t, of course. He’d escaped from hell centuries ago and was currently furious with me for binding his incorporeal body to his physical one. But that knowledge did little to lessen the effect.“
Third Grave Dead Ahead is the third installment in the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones and picks up right after the chaos at the end of book two. Reyes is all kinds of mad about what Charley had done and she’s avoiding going to sleep so as not to have any intimate encounters with him in her sleep. So, basically she hasn’t slept in two weeks. Her dad is rightfully stressing over the dangers her job as a PI place her in so she’s dealing with that as well. This book is a little calmer than the last but it was still filled with the drama, action, and banter that I loved in the other two books. I about love the quirky characters and the situations they find themselves in. Artemis was such a wonderful addition to the family and I look forward to more scenes with them. Jones has this talent of bringing in a scene full of emotion and moving me to tears or having me genuinely worried for the characters and making me laugh a few moments later. All of these books have been such fun to read and I basically started book 4 immediately after finishing this one.
