Book club challenge! (I mostly read on my KU)

1. How To Love Yourself: This book, while being a super short read, was really beneficial and insightful. I learned how to be more gracious towards myself while recovering from a very painful breakup from a very toxic relationship. I learned to stop putting so much importance on what others think of me when they themselves are not perfect either. Definitely recommend if you’re going through a hard time being kind to yourself.

“Attaining inner peace isn’t about letting someone else read your lines, it’s about embracing your character and giving the performance of a lifetime. Never be afraid to express your inner thoughts, never be afraid to dance to a different beat because when you shine with self acceptance, you light up the world.”

2. What Confident Women Do: Another shorter read, yet very moving in my opinion. It was very in depth on how you see yourself and how you can challenge yourself to change that self-image. It offers different exercises to help along the way such as journaling, affirmations, setting/maintaining boundaries, etc. I loved how it was very clear and blunt. I recommend this to ALL women!

“Sometimes, all we need is to take a leap of faith, though it can be much easier said than done, especially when we don’t feel ready yet.”

3. Healing Your Inner Child: My current read and already… wow. This book helps you understand what your inner child is and why it’s important to help your inner child heal. It gives exercises to help you better understand your own personal inner child, instead of just grouping everyone together. The exercises really make you dive deep and look into your past traumas and begin to understand yourself more. I’m still reading this one, but so far I recommend it. I feel like the work is hard but will be worth it in the end.

“I am not defined by my traumas; through healing, I can bring about positive change.”
