As someone who constantly battles overthinking, I totally get how exhausting it can feel to have your mind endlessly running scenarios that may never happen. For example, simple interactions like "Can you repeat that pls??" or wondering "Would she leave me 4 somer else?" can spiral into hours of mental replay. I’ve found that acknowledging these thoughts without judgment is the first step to breaking the cycle. It helps to practice grounding techniques, such as focusing on your breath or naming five things you can see or touch around you. This brings your awareness away from the overactive mind back to the present moment. Also, reminding yourself that worrying about something affecting you in five years won’t change the outcome can reduce the pressure to overanalyze. In social settings, I sometimes catch myself thinking "Am I too noisy?" or "I need to shut up. I'm being annoying," which can make genuine connection harder. Sharing these feelings with trusted friends reassures me that I’m not alone and often, others are feeling the same way. Lastly, embracing imperfections, like feeling awkward in photos or unsure about your appearance, has been liberating.
