Daily Procreate
I’m going to start sharing my procreate drawings. I may have a theme, or intent some days, and other days will be just color and pattern. #enjoydrawing #procreatereplay #joydrawing #Lemon8Diary
Hey creative friends! I'm so excited to dive deeper into my daily Procreate art journey and share some of my favorite ways to create cute and easy sketches with you all. When I first started with Procreate, I was a bit overwhelmed, but I quickly realized it's an amazing tool for simple, adorable drawings, perfect for anyone looking for fun drawing ideas. One of my go-to themes for cute sketches is definitely animals. Think about a chubby little cat napping, a happy-go-lucky dog with floppy ears, or even a whimsical little bear. The trick to making them cute and easy is to simplify shapes! Instead of intricate details, I often start with basic circles and ovals for the head and body, then add small, expressive eyes and a tiny nose. Don't worry about making them look realistic; the charm comes from their cartoonish appeal. For instance, a simple bunny can be just a couple of ovals, two long ears, and a tiny triangle nose. So simple, yet so effective! Beyond animals, I love sketching cute food items. Imagine a perfectly swirled cupcake with sprinkles, a steaming coffee cup with a happy face, or a bunch of berries with tiny, sparkling eyes. These are fantastic drawing ideas for practicing shading and adding small details without getting too complicated. You can even give inanimate objects a personality! A book with a little smile or a pen with tiny shoes can bring so much joy to your daily practice. For nature-inspired cute sketches, I often turn to simple elements like leaves, flowers, stars, and clouds. A minimalist daisy, a perfectly round puffy cloud, or a cluster of twinkling stars are all great starting points. These are excellent for experimenting with Procreate's vast brush library – maybe a textured brush for a cloud or a smooth inking brush for a flower outline. Making these drawings 'easy' is all about your approach. I always tell myself not to strive for perfection, especially when doing a daily sketch. It’s more about the process and enjoying the moment. Here are a few tips that have helped me: Start with Basic Shapes: Almost everything can be broken down into circles, squares, or triangles. Build your cute character or object from these foundations. Use Reference Photos Liberally: Pinterest and Instagram are treasure troves of inspiration! Look up "cute animal drawings" or "easy doodle ideas" and save a few to your canvas as a guide. Don't copy directly, but use them to spark your own interpretation. Experiment with Brushes: Procreate has so many brushes that can instantly add character. The 'Calligraphy' brushes are fantastic for smooth, clean lines, while some of the 'Textured' brushes can add a cozy feel to your drawings. Don't be afraid to play around! Embrace Imperfection: Your daily sketch doesn’t have to be a masterpiece. It's about building a habit and having fun. Some of my favorite cute sketches are the ones that were quickly done and have a charming, slightly imperfect look. The beauty of a daily Procreate practice is watching your skills grow, even in small ways. Some days I might have a clear theme in mind, like drawing all things breakfast, and other days I just let colors and patterns guide me. It's a wonderful way to unwind and express creativity without pressure. I hope these cute sketch ideas give you a little nudge to pick up your Apple Pencil and start creating your own adorable Procreate art!
