Not just to the women “doing their best.”Or the ones who are “strong” or “adventurous” or “keeping a good attitude despite it all.”
Happy International Women’s Day to ALL ✨feminists✨ of all genders! Grumpy & weak included.
PS: Personally, I always find that admitting when I’m annoyed and feeling like shit is the quickest way to get out of that funk. Just a thought. 🤗
International Women’s Day is often celebrated by highlighting stories of strength and perseverance, but it’s just as important to honor the realities beyond these narratives. From personal experience, I’ve found that recognizing and accepting feelings of frustration or weakness doesn’t diminish one’s spirit—it humanizes us. One memorable morning, overwhelmed by stress, I admitted to myself that I was annoyed and not at my best. Simply acknowledging this allowed me to break out of the cycle of denial and forced positivity. It led to a more honest moment of self-care, like taking a quiet walk and having a good breakfast to reset my mood. This aligns closely with the shoutout to women holding onto sanity and remembering to eat amidst chaos—a small but powerful act of resilience. Embracing all sides of ourselves—including moments when we feel grumpy or weak—doesn’t contradict strength; it redefines it with authenticity. Celebrating International Women’s Day by including every emotion and experience helps build a more inclusive feminist community that supports people of all genders and states of mind. This perspective not only fosters empathy but also encourages better mental health practices by normalizing vulnerability. In essence, being honest about our struggles doesn’t make us less worthy of celebration. Instead, it reinforces that real strength comes from acknowledging our full humanity, encouraging a kinder approach to self and others on this special day and beyond.
