My BF Todd

... Read moreThere's something truly magical about watching my brown dog, Todd, explore during autumn. His rich, warm coat blends perfectly with the golden and russet hues of the fallen leaves, making him look like he's part of the landscape. I often say he was 'made for autumn,' and it’s so true! The crisp air and vibrant colors just seem to energize him, turning every walk into an adventure. One of my favorite things to do with Todd when the leaves start changing is head to our local park. He absolutely loves diving into big piles of colorful autumn leaves, scattering them everywhere with pure joy. It’s a sight that always makes me smile, and his blue harness really pops against the natural backdrop. We've had so many memorable moments just watching him chase squirrels (unsuccessfully, bless his heart!) through the rustling foliage. His namesake, 'The Fox & The Hound,' feels even more fitting during this season. There’s a gentle, curious spirit about him that reminds me of those classic tales, especially when he’s sniffing out new scents among the damp earth and fallen acorns. He’s not just a pet; he’s my constant companion, especially when the days get shorter and the evenings become cozier. After our outdoor escapades, there’s nothing better than snuggling up with him by the window, watching the last of the autumn light fade, or curling up with a warm blanket. Beyond the walks, Todd has a special way of making our home feel even cozier during fall. He loves his pumpkin-flavored treats (in moderation, of course!) and even has a favorite plaid blanket that comes out as soon as the temperatures drop. Seeing him curled up, a contented sigh escaping him, truly completes the fall aesthetic I love so much. It's those little moments – his happy wag when I grab his leash for an autumn walk, his sleepy snores by the fireplace, or even just his presence as I sip a warm drink – that make this season so much richer with him by my side. I’ve also found that autumn is a great time to introduce new games. We play 'hide and seek' with treats in the leaf piles, which he finds absolutely exhilarating. It’s a wonderful way to keep him mentally stimulated as well as physically active. And while he loves the chase, he's also incredibly patient, often sitting perfectly still for photos amidst the golden backdrop. He's such a photogenic brown dog, especially with his expressive eyes! If you're looking to create your own #falldogs memories, just embrace the simple joys: a good walk, a cozy cuddle, and maybe a few festive treats tailored for pets. Todd reminds me daily to appreciate the beauty around us, especially during this beautiful time of year.
