darkness falls
darkness falls against my window pane.
the silent thoughts are driving me insane.
I never looked for money fortune nor fame.
waiting ahead I miss my morning train.
I'm left empty with no one to blame. darkness
Experiencing moments of darkness can often feel overwhelming, as if silent thoughts are relentlessly echoing within the quiet of our minds. In this poem, 'darkness falls against my window pane' vividly portrays that sensation of isolation many of us encounter, especially when facing personal challenges or feelings of emptiness. From my own experience, nights filled with restless thoughts can make the world feel heavy and slow, like missing that morning train symbolizing lost chances or unfulfilled goals. However, such moments also provide an opportunity to introspect and re-evaluate what truly matters. The poet’s line, "I never looked for money fortune nor fame," resonates deeply as it reflects a yearning for something beyond material success—a quest for genuine connection and inner peace. When I faced similar feelings of emptiness, I found solace in acknowledging those emotions instead of pushing them aside. Writing down thoughts or expressing feelings through poetry helped transform silent turmoil into clarity. Additionally, seeking moments of mindfulness or surrounding oneself with supportive people can gradually illuminate the dark. This poem beautifully captures this universal human experience, reminding us that although darkness may fall, the act of facing it honestly can lead us towards greater self-understanding and resilience.
