Pursuit of a dream...1992. I am 22 years old

In 1992, my dream to become a musician began at the Four Strong Winds Coffeehouse in Mobile, Alabama. At just 22 years old, I embarked on an exciting journey with my first band, Soft Asylum. This experience ignited a fire within me that led to countless musical opportunities over the years. From opening for national acts like Rehab at the Soul Kitchen in Mobile to participating in three USO tours, including a memorable one in the Middle East in 2006, I learned how to navigate the complexities of a music career. I received endorsements for my drum gear before my tour and created unforgettable experiences while performing for troops. As my band Ugli Stick formed on April Fool's Day in 2000, I began to understand the industry's ebbs and flows. Our collective creative output resulted in three albums during our active years, showcasing our growth and artistic expression. Even after the band's hiatus from 2012 to 2013, my passion for music never waned. Since 2012, I've been serving as an Operations Manager at Guitar Center Birmingham, which has further enriched my musical expertise. Today, I perform with Fly By Radio, a band specializing in female-fronted rock music that spans multiple decades. We continually engage audiences in clubs, corporate events, and weddings, celebrating the vibrant rock 'n' roll spirit from the '60s through today. This journey has taught me that pursuing a dream is not just about reaching a destination but cherishing every moment along the way.
