My personal style summed up in 4 photos🫡
If I had to describe it, I’d describe my style as minimalist chic with a little personality.
• WTF is maximalism? I prefer a few thoughtful details over lots of colors, prints, and layers competing for attention.
• WTF is business formal? I work in tech, so I have the option to incorporate more of my personal wardrobe into the office instead of sticking to traditional corporate attire, which is so fun!!
• WTF is the right shoe theory? Sometimes the obvious shoe choice isn’t the most interesting one. I love bringing in casual shoes for non-casual outfits and vice versa.
• WTF is high rise? As a petite girl, low-rise and mid-rise hit better on me and give me more versatile top options than high-rise.
As someone who embraces a minimalist chic style, I've found that less truly is more. Instead of overwhelming my outfits with too many colors or prints, I focus on a few carefully chosen pieces that reflect my personality. This approach not only streamlines my wardrobe but also helps me avoid decision fatigue each morning. Working in the tech industry has been a game changer for my wardrobe. Unlike traditional corporate settings where business formal means strict suits and conservative colors, I get to infuse my personal style into my office wear. Combining comfort and professionalism allows me to feel confident and authentic at work. For example, I pair tailored blazers with casual sneakers, which aligns with the 'right shoe theory'—mixing unexpected shoes with outfits creates an interesting and modern look. Speaking of the right shoe theory, I love how swapping traditional heels for casual sneakers or boots can elevate an outfit and make it more versatile. This theory encourages breaking fashion norms and injecting personality into what might seem like a typical ensemble. Being petite, I discovered that mid-rise and low-rise pants suit me better than high-rise options. They give me more flexibility in styling tops and create a balanced silhouette. This small detail makes a big difference in how I feel and carry my outfits throughout the day. All in all, adopting these style philosophies—minimalism, business casual flexibility, the right shoe theory, and choosing the right rise—has made my fashion journey both fun and practical. If you’re exploring your own style, I recommend experimenting with these concepts to find what truly works for you.
