Is money truly the only thing you need?

I'm someone that chose passion over highpay. I decided to go down the path of design since I was 16 even though all my relatives were like "design has no future".

I guess it has no future to them in their generation but look at how design thinking have helped with the evolution of the digital world. 👀 Anything that you use and look at nowadays requires someone to design it. From personal experience, don't listen to those that are doing nothing and have no experiences in the industry that you are interested in. (My aunt was a house wife lool) Go for what you want and always fight for it :3

💓💓💓

I was watching the recent documentory on netflix for the book: The subtle art of not giving a f**k

I haven't read the book so I'm not sure what he wrote about but in the film he talked about going through hardships in life and came to the idea that life is basically about suffering. So why not choose the suffering that will get you to where you want to be? Either way you will be suffering, either its in a high paying boring job OR suffer at the start with a lower pay while building your skills up and getting to where you wanna be.

🥳🥳🥳

The choice is pretty clear to me. Why waste time doing something you hate? Why do you need so much money at the start of your youth? Shouldn't you invest in something that your future you will be thankful for?

🤓🤓

Lastly... I think if you have a passion for something you should definitely go for it because a lot of people I know doesn't even know what they like or want to do. So go for it!! Whether its creating art or the lesser recognised jobs out there, just give it a shot and try it. Because we all die in the end. What would you do if you only had 1 month left to live? Would you sell your life away to a corporation that you don't care about and you are just another head count to them?

However, if you are struggling financially and can't afford to chase your dreams right now.. I would say make it a goal and slowly take steps to acheive it whether its taking online courses and etc.

... Read moreFrom my personal experience balancing full-time design work and part-time studies, I've realized that choosing passion isn’t always the easiest path financially, but it’s the most fulfilling. Managing expenses and lifestyle preferences is crucial when income is limited early on, but with careful budgeting and continuous skill-building, your earning potential can grow steadily. If you’re in a similar spot, don’t get discouraged by others who say your passion isn’t profitable—these are often people not familiar with the industry’s potential. Instead, look for ways to enhance your earning capabilities through online courses, networking, and gaining practical experience. Digital creation and design are fields with growing demand, so staying updated on trends can open doors. Importantly, passion fuels motivation, which helps you overcome the inevitable hardships. Choosing a career that aligns with your interests means you’re investing in something your future self will appreciate. Small steps, like setting goals and seeking resources, can gradually turn your dream career into a sustainable livelihood. Ultimately, if financial stability is a concern, treat your passion as a long-term investment rather than an immediate paycheck. This mindset shift helped me stay committed and optimistic about my future. Don’t sell yourself short—your life’s work should be about more than just money; it’s about building a meaningful legacy that resonates with who you truly are.
