It truly lives up to its nickname, the 'One Happy Island,' and we found it to be absolutely perfect for traveling with kids. From the moment we landed, the warm breezes and friendly smiles made us feel right at home. Our days mostly revolved around the stunning white-sand beaches. Eagle Beach was fantastic for building intricate sandcastles and splashing in the gentle waves. We brought along some inflatable toys, which kept the kids entertained for hours. But for younger children, Baby Beach on the southern tip of the island was an absolute dream! The water is incredibly shallow and calm, making it super safe for toddlers to play and even try a bit of snorkeling in protected areas. We spent hours there, just enjoying the warm sea and sunshine without any worries. Beyond the glorious sand and sea, we discovered some other fun spots that delighted the whole family. The Butterfly Farm was a magical experience, a serene tropical garden where hundreds of butterflies flutter all around you – my kids were completely mesmerized! It’s a great educational stop too. We also loved visiting the Donkey Sanctuary. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn about these gentle animals, pet them, and even feed them some treats. For a bit of adventure, we took a short, guided tour through accessible parts of Arikok National Park, marveling at the desert landscapes and unique rock formations, though we stuck to the easier paths suitable for little legs. Finding kid-friendly food was an absolute breeze. Many restaurants had excellent children's menus, and we enjoyed plenty of casual beachfront dining experiences where the kids could play in the sand while we waited for our food. Fresh seafood was a hit, and who can resist a good ice cream treat after a day in the sun? When it came to accommodation, we chose a resort with a fantastic multi-level pool area, complete with a shallow splash zone and even a small slide, which was a lifesaver for cooling off after a morning at the beach. We always look for places that understand family needs, and Aruba certainly delivered with its welcoming atmosphere and amenities. A few practical tips for parents considering an Aruba trip: pack plenty of reef-safe sunscreen, wide-brimmed hats, and rash guards. The Aruban sun is no joke, even on cloudy days! Staying hydrated is key, so always have water bottles handy, especially if you’re out exploring. We also rented a car, which gave us the flexibility to explore at our own pace, making sure to bring our own portable car seats for peace of mind. The island felt very safe and welcoming, and the locals were incredibly kind to children, which is always a top priority when traveling with family. Our Aruba trip was filled with laughter, discovery, and precious family moments that we'll cherish forever. It truly reminded me why I love traveling and spending quality time with my loved ones. If you're considering a tropical destination that caters wonderfully to children and offers a blend of relaxation and adventure, I highly recommend checking out Aruba for your next family adventure!
