Finale Review!
Loved it! I did read the OUaBH prior to this series so I already knew about Jacks and the Fates. I get why Jacks was so irate at the start of his series. I have Spectacular on hold in Libby. #stephaniegarber #finale #booktok
Okay, fellow bookworms, can we just take a moment to appreciate the absolute beauty that is the 'Finale: A Caraval Novel' cover by Stephanie Garber? Seriously, picking up this book felt like unwrapping a treasure. The image on the cover, with its gorgeous interplay of gold and silver tones, immediately pulls you into the magical world Garber has so brilliantly crafted. You can see the intricate details, the decorative stars and swirls that seem to dance across the title, hinting at the fantastical journey within. It's truly a feast for the eyes, and for me, it perfectly encapsulates the whimsical yet slightly dangerous vibe of the Caraval universe. As a fan, I always look at how a cover resonates with the story, and 'Finale's' design does a fantastic job. The title itself, glowing in those metallic hues, feels epic and final, exactly how the concluding book in a beloved series should feel. Seeing that '#1 New York Times Bestselling Author' badge on the cover just adds to the excitement – you know you’re in for a treat from a master storyteller. And, of course, the little 'Review' overlay with a winking emoji on my copy made me smile, hinting at the journey I was about to embark on. Now, about the actual story! Having read 'Once Upon a Broken Heart' (OUaBH) prior to diving into this series, I already had a soft spot for characters like Jacks and a good understanding of the Fates. Knowing Jacks’s backstory and personality from OUaBH definitely gave me a unique perspective on his actions in 'Finale'. I totally get why he was so irate at the start of his own series after everything that went down here! Stephanie Garber has a way of weaving magic and intricate plotlines that keep you utterly captivated. 'Finale' truly lives up to its name, bringing all the beloved characters – Scarlett, Tella, Julian, and of course, Jacks – together for one last, dazzling hurrah. The stakes feel higher than ever, and the emotional payoff is huge. The romance, the mystery, the magic – it’s all dialed up to eleven. I found myself completely swept away by the intricate twists and turns, constantly guessing what would happen next. Garber’s prose is as enchanting as ever, painting vivid pictures with words that make you feel like you're right there in the heart of the Caraval game. It’s a spectacular conclusion that ties up loose ends while still leaving you with that lingering magic the series is known for. If you loved 'Caraval' and 'Legendary', 'Finale' is an absolute must-read that delivers on all fronts. I've even put 'Spectacular' on hold in Libby – I just can't get enough of this world!
