... Read moreWow, what a journey! I recently added a few new pieces to my collection, and I wanted to share my latest 'tattoo haul' experience with you all. Getting tattooed is such a personal process, and every piece tells a story. I also tracked the pain levels for each, which I know is super helpful for anyone planning new ink!
First up, I got a super cute little umbrella tattoo. It's quite small and delicate, and honestly, the pain was barely there – a solid 3/10 for me. It's a nice, subtle piece that I absolutely adore and it healed like a dream.
Then came one of my more significant pieces: a script tattoo on my rib cage. This one says 'I Love You Baby Girl To the Moon & Back.' This design holds so much personal meaning, and as expected, the rib area was definitely a challenge. I'd rate the pain a solid 9/10, but totally worth it for something so close to my heart. It's a constant reminder of someone incredibly special.
I also got a minimalist outline of a fruit with a leaf on my arm. This one was surprisingly pain-free, truly a 1/10. It just goes to show that arm tattoos can be really manageable, depending on the exact spot and design. It’s a tiny, sweet detail that makes me smile.
Finally, a beautiful lighthouse surrounded by leafy floral elements found its home on my arm. This was a really pleasant experience, probably a 4/10 on the pain scale. The detail is stunning, and it feels like a little piece of art.
Speaking of meaningful tattoos, I know many of us consider ink to honor loved ones. While I didn't get a butterfly this time, the sentiment behind memorial tattoos, like a 'passed away memory butterfly tattoo,' is so powerful. It's a beautiful way to keep someone's memory alive, whether it's through a symbol, a date, or a quote. Quote tattoos, much like my rib piece, are incredibly popular. I've seen some amazing ones, like 'the sun will rise the stars have already died tattoo,' which is such a poignant statement. Choosing the right font and placement can make these even more impactful.
When it comes to placement, everyone's pain tolerance is different. While I didn't get any 'thigh tattoos' in this haul, I've heard they can range quite a bit in pain, usually being less painful on the outer thigh and more sensitive on the inner thigh. It's always good to research specific areas and talk to your artist about what to expect. My experience with the rib cage shows that some spots are definitely more intense than others, but with proper aftercare and preparation, it's totally manageable.
Overall, I'm thrilled with my new additions! Each one is a little piece of me. If you're thinking about getting new ink, don't let the pain ratings scare you – it's always temporary, and the art lasts forever. What are your favorite tattoo placements or meanings? Share your experiences below!
