Trying new things: Making an essential bag
I’m creating a new series of trying new things and I’m excited for it! #lifestylechanges #tryingsomethingnew
When I first heard about 'essential bags,' I admit, I was a little confused – were they really a thing, or just another trend? But after diving in and creating my own, I can honestly say it's been a game-changer! An essential bag, for me, is like a mini survival kit for daily life, packed with those little things that can often save the day. It’s about being prepared, whether you're at work, running errands, or just out and about. My journey to assemble this bag started with a budget-friendly mission. Just like many of you, I'm always looking for smart ways to stay organized without breaking the bank. My first stop? Dollar Tree! It was amazing what I found there. Things like travel-sized lotions – I even snagged some Dove body love rich nourishment cream – and handy wipes. You can often find great deals on basic hygiene items or even fun little treats like that delicious Blue Raspberry soda I found! Don't underestimate what a dollar store can offer for building your essentials. Next, it was off to Target to grab some of the remaining items. This is where I picked up more specific necessities like Tylenol for those unexpected headaches, personal hygiene items like pads, and a good deodorant. Hand sanitizer, like Purel, is also a non-negotiable for me, especially when I’m out and about. And let's not forget the practical side – I even grabbed some travel-sized Clorox wipes, because you never know when you might need a quick clean-up! So, what exactly goes into an "essential bag" and why? My review of building one highlights a few key categories: Personal Care & Hygiene: Think about your daily routine. For me, this includes a mini lotion, deodorant, and hand sanitizer. If you wear makeup, a small mirror or a lip balm is great. For anyone who might need it, including feminine hygiene products like pads is crucial for preparedness. Health & Wellness: Simple pain relievers like Tylenol are lifesavers. A small first-aid kit with band-aids, antiseptic wipes, and perhaps some allergy medication can also be incredibly useful. Comfort & Convenience: This is where those little extras come in. Maybe a hair tie, a small comb, or even a mini sewing kit. I also love to carry a reusable shopping bag tucked away, and sometimes a fun snack like those sugar cookies I treated myself to, or a healthy granola bar, can make a huge difference in your day. Practical Tools: A pen and a small notebook are always handy. For those who work on the go, a portable charger and cable for your phone can prevent low-battery anxiety. The beauty of an essential bag is that it’s completely customizable. What’s essential for me might be different for you, depending on your lifestyle, work, and daily needs. The key is to think about those minor inconveniences that pop up and how a small, well-stocked bag could solve them. This whole process has really helped me feel more confident and prepared, especially when I'm heading to work with my backpack. It’s truly about making your daily life a little bit smoother and stress-free. Give it a try – you might just wonder how you ever lived without one!
