Spent 15k on Esthetician School
I spent over a year in esthetician school... and it was a disaster.
3 months in, our teachers quit. One kept showing up drunk.
I was the oldest in my class, super passionate, and ready to learn.
I made flashcards, studied, did the work practicing on friends and family.
Then, 3 months before graduation, we were left with NOTHING.
No teacher. No clients. Just stuck in a tiny room with a TV.
We graduated on hours alone.
That experience flipped my whole life plan.
Now I'm back in school, working toward a major dream.
Graduating with one degree down in 2026 2027-2030=The dream 🙏. #purdue #CareerPivot
Attending esthetician school can be a rewarding experience, but it's essential to be prepared for unexpected challenges. Many students dream of working in beauty and skincare, but not every program is designed to support their aspirations. My journey began with high hopes, investing $15K into a program that ultimately left me disillusioned. During this tumultuous year, I encountered inadequate teaching, a lack of resources, and a disorganized curriculum, which forced me to rethink my life choices. However, these experiences fueled my resilience and adaptability. I pivoted from this setback, realizing that education doesn't always follow a conventional path. My time in esthetician school taught me valuable lessons about perseverance, passion, and the importance of finding the right environment to cultivate my skills. While my initial plan to become an esthetician was thwarted, it redirected my focus toward a new ambition. Now, I'm working towards a degree that aligns with my passions, prepared to finish by 2026. For anyone contemplating esthetician school, it's crucial to research programs thoroughly. Prioritize seeking schools with strong reputations, supportive staff, and robust networks that can propel your career forward in the beauty industry.
