... Read moreYou know how sometimes you crave that fancy coffee shop drink, but your wallet (or your pajamas) says no? That's exactly why I started experimenting with homemade creamers, and let me tell you, this crème brûlée version is a game-changer! It's become my go-to for adding that vanilla/caramel vibe to my morning brew. I used to grab those store-bought crème brûlée creamers from brands like Coffee Mate or Silk, thinking they were the best. But honestly, once you try making it yourself, there's no going back! You control the sweetness and ingredients, avoiding all those artificial flavors and preservatives. Plus, it's usually much cheaper in the long run, and the taste is just so much richer and more authentic. You get that real crème brûlée flavor without any weird aftertaste. Making this creamer is surprisingly simple. The key to that smooth, rich texture is making sure your brown sugar completely dissolves into the evaporated milk over medium heat. Don't rush this step! Stirring continuously helps prevent scorching and ensures a silky creamer. Once it's all combined and removed from the heat, that's when you add the vanilla extract and regular milk. And don't skimp on the vanilla extract! It really brings out that classic crème brûlée depth. I sometimes even add a tiny hint of almond extract for an extra layer of flavor, or a pinch of cinnamon for a warmer caramel note. It's all about personalizing it to your taste! Many of you asked about using evaporated milk in coffee creamer recipes, and it's truly a secret weapon! It gives the creamer a wonderfully rich, creamy texture without needing heavy cream. It's less fatty but still delivers that luxurious feel, making your coffee feel like a treat every morning. While my recipe uses a few more ingredients than a '2-ingredient coffee creamer,' each one plays a crucial role in achieving that authentic crème brûlée taste. You could technically simplify to just evaporated milk and a flavored syrup, but for that true 'from scratch' experience, these ingredients are worth it! Once cooled, I store my creamer in an airtight jar in the fridge. It usually lasts about a week, but honestly, it's so good it rarely makes it past a few days in my house! This creamer isn't just for hot coffee either. It's incredible in iced coffee, cold brew, or even a dash in your morning oatmeal for a sweet treat. Sometimes I even froth a little with my milk for an extra creamy latte. So next time you're craving a fancy coffee shop drink, remember this easy homemade crème brûlée creamer recipe. It's simple, delicious, and totally customizable. Trust me, your taste buds (and your wallet!) will thank you!
