Grief and Comfort Food

Hello all! This may be lengthy but I hope not. Me and my siblings lost our Mom sometime in 2013. Long story short, we had to report her as a missing person. By July/August she was found and she was taken from us. As a child she was in and out of jail a lot. One thing she talked about a lot was “jailhouse” food. One of my favorite recipes from her is chicken noodles with tuna and cheese. (Yes I know it may sound weird but hear me out!) Now that I’m in my 30s, whenever I think about my mom, I make that. I can just hear her in the kitchen making it. Singing A Mary J song. This is definitely a comfort food for me and I eat it a lot! I can feel her love when I eat this simple little meal but it means so so much to me. I miss her so much still everyday. I’ll never forget when I found out what happened to our mom. I was 5 months pregnant with my daughter. And she was so excited to be a glam ma. Rest in peace Mom. Love, your twin. ❤️ (I was nervous to post this, please be kind.)
