Iced London Fog + Lavender Foam

The pairing I didn't know I needed. This drink tastes like Froot Loops milk 🥛💕

📌 For the London Fog:

Brew a strong cup of earl grey. Let it cool down. In a cup add some ice, add the tea, a pump of vanilla syrup, and a splash of milk. Mix.

📌 For the cold foam:

In a separate cup, mix 3 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and 2 tablespoons milk plus 2 pumps of lavender syrup and 1 pump of vanilla syrup. The syrup won't make it change color so you'll need food coloring if you want it to look lavender. Use a frother to mix it all until it starts to thicken.

Now you can pour the cold foam over the iced London dog. Enjoy

📌 Note: pumps differ depending on what brand you have for for reference by pump I mean 1/2 oz

1/2 oz = 1 tablespoon

Adjust this amount based on taste. For the tea I brewed two bags for about 10oz.

... Read moreSince sharing my Iced Lavender London Fog recipe, I've had so many of you ask for more details and tips to perfect your own at-home barista experience! This drink has truly become a staple for me, especially when I need a little moment of calm with a delicious twist. Let's dive deeper into some of the elements that make this drink so special and answer some of your burning questions, especially about that gorgeous lavender cold foam and potential variations. First off, getting that perfect lavender cold foam can feel a bit like magic, but it's totally achievable! The key is using heavy whipping cream. I usually keep mine chilled before frothing, which seems to help it thicken faster. If you don't have a dedicated frother, a small whisk and a lot of elbow grease in a cold bowl can work, or even a French press! Just pump it vigorously. For the stunning light purple color, food coloring is your friend. A tiny drop is all you need to transform the foam from white to that dreamy lavender hue, just like in the pictures you see of my drink. I found that adjusting the amount of lavender syrup really depends on your preference for floral notes – start with two pumps and add more if you want a stronger lavender kick. Now, let's talk about the base: the Iced London Fog. The earl grey tea choice makes a huge difference. I love using a high-quality loose leaf earl grey for a more robust flavor, but two tea bags brewed strongly works perfectly, too. Letting it cool completely before adding ice is essential to prevent it from watering down. And that touch of vanilla syrup? It’s not just for sweetness; it perfectly complements the bergamot in the earl grey and the floral lavender. I often experiment with different vanilla syrups – sometimes I go for a rich, dark vanilla, other times a classic clear one. You can even make your own simple vanilla syrup by simmering sugar, water, and a vanilla bean! One question that keeps popping up is about vegan variations, especially if you're avoiding soy milk. Absolutely! To make a delightful vegan lavender cold foam latte, you can substitute the heavy whipping cream and milk with plant-based alternatives. Full-fat canned coconut milk (chilled overnight so the cream separates) is fantastic for a thick, frothy cold foam. Another great option is oat milk or almond milk, especially the barista blends, as they tend to froth up really well. For the London Fog base, simply swap out dairy milk for your preferred plant-based milk. I've personally had great success with oat milk in my iced London Fog – it adds a lovely creaminess without overpowering the tea and lavender. So, yes, you can definitely avoid soy milk and still enjoy a rich, creamy, and flavorful vegan lavender London Fog! Don't be afraid to experiment with the ratios until it tastes just right for you. Some days I like it sweeter, other days I prefer a stronger tea flavor. The beauty of making it at home is that you're the barista! Enjoy crafting your perfect cup.

Former barista—heat up your milk and steep the Earl Grey in half milk/half hot water, it’ll give it an even richer flavor!
