WHY IM LEAVING HR: From Boardroom to Bedside 💗

✨Plot twist… or maybe just alignment.✨

I HATE HUMAN RESOURCES! I feel as though HR IS THE DUMP FOR THE BUSINESS. At least in my experience. Before becoming an HR Director, I was a CNA working in the float pool and rotating through Med-Surg, ER, Same-Day Surgery, and Behavioral Health. I spent 4 solid years in Behavioral Health before life shifted me into Human Resources.

But here’s what most don’t know:

since the age of 16 (33 now) I knew I wanted to be a nurse. Life was always happening kids, work, home life, and I feel that there was never the right time. Well It isn’t now either, but idc I’m going for it.

I worked the entire COVID pandemic on the front line 16-hour shifts, day in and day out, on both mental health units and in the ER. I stood shoulder-to-shoulder with nurses, I watched their sacrifices, and I know exactly what comes with being an RN.

So when I say I’m leaving HR and flipping my degree into a Master’s of Science in Nursing, it’s not from fantasy. It’s from experience and from purpose.

I’m not afraid of hard work, just work that drains me with no return.

I’ll take the weight of nursing over the emptiness of HR burnout any day.

I’ve supported people for years. Now it’s time to heal them.

Let’s do this. 💉✨
