Jewelry, but make it permanent
I’ve been a permanent jewelry girly for over a year now.
I recently had to remove my permanent ankle for an MRI & I felt so incomplete with it gone. So I saved my anklet & did my research to find someone to Zap me back into action.
I got my original permanent anklet at a mall in Myrtle Beach around thanksgiving 2022. I also brought along a 18k gold anklet that I was gifted to see if it could possibly be welded & they made it happen.
I 10/10 recommend permanent jewelry if you’re like me and rarely remove your jewelry. If you’re in the Norfolk/Hampton Roads area I highly recommend LNK, they’re located at the Selden Market downtown Norfolk.
If you're seeing more 'forever' jewelry around and wondering, 'What is permanent jewelry?', you're not alone! It's essentially a custom-fitted piece of delicate chain—often gold or silver—that's welded directly onto you, usually your wrist, ankle, or neck, without a clasp. For me, it's been an absolute game-changer in my daily routine, simplifying my accessory choices immensely. The 'permanent jewelry trend' isn't just a fleeting fad; it’s a lifestyle choice that offers both convenience and a touch of personal luxury. I found that the initial investment truly pays off in terms of wearability and longevity. No more fumbling with clasps, no more worrying about losing a cherished piece, and no more tarnished jewelry sitting unworn in a box. It simply becomes a part of you, a subtle, shiny reminder of a special memory or just a beautiful, effortless addition to your everyday style. So, is permanent jewelry worth it? Absolutely, if you appreciate low-maintenance elegance and a piece that truly feels like an extension of yourself. While my personal obsession started with a 'permanent ankle bracelet,' the world of permanent jewelry offers so many 'permanent jewelry ideas.' Many opt for a 'permanent bracelet' on their wrist, which is incredibly popular for its visibility and ease. I've also seen stunning 'permanent necklace' designs, often layered with other necklaces for a chic, personalized look. You can choose from various metals—14k or 18k gold, sterling silver, or rose gold—and even add tiny charms to personalize it further. For example, my 18k gold anklet (the one I was gifted and got welded) feels incredibly special and unique, and it pairs beautifully with everything. One of the biggest questions I get is about living with it. Is it uncomfortable? Does it tarnish? In my experience, once it's on, you barely notice it's there. It's so lightweight and seamlessly integrated! As for care, it's pretty minimal. I just clean it gently with soap and water when I shower, and it stays shiny. You can absolutely shower, swim, exercise, and live your life normally. The beauty of it truly is that you're 'back in business' with your routine, without having to think about adding or removing jewelry daily. And yes, as I mentioned in my main post, sometimes life happens, and you might need it removed for things like an MRI. But don't worry, a professional can easily snip it off without any damage. And often, like in my case, they can re-weld it for you later, allowing you to quickly be 'back in business' with your beloved piece. It's not truly 'permanent' in the sense that it can never come off, but rather 'permanent' because it stays on until you decide otherwise. This flexibility combined with the ease of wear is what makes it such a great option for those who cherish their jewelry.
