This is the Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original Makeup Removing Cleanser Balm.
I finished a sample size - it was SO small! I only got about 2 good uses out of it. However, the Banila Co. Cleansing Balms are truly one of the best ones on the market! I believe this is my first time trying the original formula though. I usually reach for the pore cleansing one. But this did a great job of removing my makeup! It doesn't leave that annoying film that some cleansing balms leave behind on your skin. It actually removes ALL my makeup and skincare underneath, even my stubborn eyeliner and mascara. This (like everything else) has been reformulated though, (not sure if the one I got was) and now has vitamin C in it. My skin FREAKS out anytime I use anything with vitamin C in it. So just to err on the side of caution, I will probably not purchase this one, but I love the other cleansing balms this brand offers. If your skin can handle vitamin C though I think this is an excellent cleansing balm for you!

Trying out the Banila Co. Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original formula truly opened my eyes to how effective cleansing balms can be for removing makeup. What I noticed most is its ability to thoroughly dissolve even the most stubborn mascara and eyeliner without leaving any greasy or filmy residue on my skin, which sets it apart from many other balms I've tried. One tip I’ve found helpful when using cleansing balms like this is to warm a small amount in my hands before gently massaging it over dry skin. This helps the balm break down makeup and sunscreen more efficiently. Then, by adding a bit of water to emulsify the balm, it rinses off easily without any leftover heaviness. However, as someone with sensitive skin, the inclusion of vitamin C in the reformulated version of this balm gave me pause. Vitamin C can be a powerhouse antioxidant, brightening the complexion and protecting against environmental damage, but it can also trigger irritation for some skin types. If your skin is sensitive or reactive like mine, I would recommend doing a patch test first before using it extensively. For those whose skin can handle vitamin C, this cleansing balm could be a fantastic addition to the skincare routine — efficiently removing makeup while delivering added antioxidant benefits. On the other hand, Banila Co. offers several variants, like their pore cleansing balm, which might be better suited if you're wary of potential sensitivities. In my experience, incorporating cleansing balms like Clean It Zero into a double cleansing routine helps keep my skin feeling clean without stripping moisture, especially during colder months when dryness is a concern. Plus, the gentle formula avoids the uncomfortable tightness some stronger cleansers leave behind. Overall, I would recommend giving the sample a try to gauge how your skin reacts, especially regarding the vitamin C content. The brand’s reputation and product formulation certainly make it one of the best cleansing balms on the market for removing makeup effectively and gently.
