This is the Polite Society French Rose Milk. This was gifted to me, and I used it apart of morning skincare routine. I hated the way this smelled! I can be super sensitive to scents, and this has such an overpowering rose scent. Like old lady perfume. I used it to moisturize and hydrate my face before doing my makeup. I liked using it for makeup prep! But I tried spray it on my face between steps, sort of like a makeup melting spray to spray the layers together, and it always separated my makeup, rather than melt it together. The mister on this is also really harsh, but it does spray a lot of product. And it’s $39!! That’s SO expensive for a milky mist when there are so many other affordable ones on the market. However I do love the luxurious glass bottle it comes in. But overall, I wouldn’t repurchase this because of the scent and the price. Plus I would only be able to use it during my skincare routine. But I would really like to try more from Polite Society!! This is not a bad product, this was just not for me.
When it comes to facial mists with moisturizing properties, I’ve found that scent and texture play huge roles in whether a product becomes a staple in my routine. For sensitive noses like mine, a strong floral scent can cause headache or discomfort, especially when sprayed repeatedly throughout the day. This sensitivity led me to limit this product's use to morning skincare only. I also experimented with layering makeup and using this mist as a “melting spray” to blend layers. Unfortunately, the mist’s texture—a milky formula—tended to separate my makeup layers instead of seamlessly merging them. Additionally, the spray nozzle delivers a harsh, forceful mist that can waste product and disrupt makeup. Compared to other hydrating mists on the market, priced significantly lower and formulated without an intense scent, the $39 price tag makes this one a luxury choice with mixed value. Yet, the elegant glass bottle and vegan-friendly formula show the brand’s attention to detail and ethical considerations. For those interested in adding a rose-scented, moisturizing glaze mist to their routine, this could be worth a try, especially if you are not sensitive to floral fragrances and want a skincare boost before applying makeup. I’d recommend testing a sample first to ensure compatibility with your skin and makeup layering preferences. There’s potential in the Polite Society line, and I’m curious to explore other products that might better fit my routine and scent tolerance.
