After work reset even when I’m not feeling well
After work reset even when I’m not feeling well. Came home from work feeling like I had been hit by a truck, y’all. I really wasn’t feeling my best, but I knew straightening up a little would help me feel better mentally.
I cleaned up the kitchen, sanitized the bathrooms, straightened up the living room, and then gave myself permission to REST. Sometimes taking care of your home doesn’t mean doing everything, it means doing what you can.
And even while feeling under the weather, seeing my home clean, cozy, and peaceful made me feel a little better. Now it’s time for my body to catch up.
After a long day at work, especially when feeling under the weather, the idea of cleaning might seem daunting. However, from my own experience, even a small effort to tidy up can make a significant difference in how I feel mentally and emotionally. I’ve found that focusing on quick, manageable tasks like wiping down kitchen counters, sanitizing high-touch surfaces in the bathroom, or straightening the living room cushions helps me regain a sense of control and calm. What’s important is not to aim for perfection but to do what you can. Giving yourself permission to rest after these small acts of care is crucial — it’s not about exhausting yourself but about creating a clean, cozy, and peaceful sanctuary that supports your well-being. This approach combines the physical benefits of a cleaner space with the psychological lift of accomplishment and tranquility. Moreover, maintaining a routine, even a light one, cultivates a habit that can prevent clutter from piling up and becoming overwhelming. It’s also a gentle form of self-care: when you see your home orderly and sanitized, it can uplift your spirit and reduce anxiety. This feeling of peace can be especially comforting when your body needs to catch up on rest and recovery. If you’re looking to try this, start small and prioritize areas that bring you the most comfort — maybe your bed area, a reading nook, or the kitchen where you prepare meals. This way, you create pockets of coziness and calm that help reset your mind, making it easier to unwind and recharge for the next day.
I had procrastination then right before bed I did a 180 spin real quick lol 😂
