Critterpedia Check After Restarting
After restarting Animal Crossing NH this last week, my Critterpedia is so emptyyy!! Here is a little slide of the whole thing, and at the end i have a few of my favorite finds so far!!
If y’all had any fave critters while playing, what were they?!
Oh my gosh, restarting Animal Crossing: New Horizons is such a bittersweet feeling, isn't it? On one hand, a fresh start! On the other, seeing that completely empty Critterpedia can be a little daunting. I totally get it! Mine was bare too, but it's also incredibly exciting to start discovering all the amazing bugs, fish, and sea creatures all over again. One of my absolute favorite early catches this time around has to be the Emperor Butterfly! Seriously, it's such a gorgeous bug. I remember seeing its detailed entry in my Critterpedia and just being so thrilled. If you're looking to catch one yourself, keep an eye out during the day (from 5 AM to 6 PM) in the months of May to September (Northern Hemisphere) or November to March (Southern Hemisphere). They usually flutter around flowers on your island, and they're pretty easy to spot with their vibrant blue and black wings. They sell for 4,000 Bells, which is a nice little boost early on! Beyond the beautiful Emperor Butterfly, I've also had some fun reeling in a Clown Fish and even spotting a Giant Water Bug. The Clown Fish, my little 'Nemo,' is found in the sea all day long from April to September (NH) or October to March (SH). They're not super rare, but always a cute find! The Giant Water Bug, on the other hand, can be a bit trickier. You'll find these guys on rivers and ponds from 7 PM to 8 AM, between April and September (NH) or October and March (SH). They're quick, so approach slowly with your net! Filling up that Critterpedia again can be a real project, but it's also one of the most rewarding parts of ACNH. Here are a few tips that have really helped me on my new island journey: Check Your Seasons and Times: Every critter has specific months and hours they appear. Keep an eye on your in-game calendar and clock! If you're hunting for a specific bug or fish, knowing its schedule is key. Visit Nook Miles Islands: Sometimes, going on a Mystery Island Tour can yield critters you haven't seen on your own island yet. Plus, it's a great way to stock up on resources. Craft Bait: For fish, crafting fish bait (from Manilla Clams you dig up on the beach) is a game-changer. Throwing it into the water often spawns a fish shadow, increasing your chances of finding rarer species. Listen and Look: Many bugs make distinct noises, and others are attracted to certain things like flowers or trash. Keep your ears and eyes peeled! Don't Forget Sea Creatures: Diving for sea creatures is a whole other adventure! Grab a wet suit and explore the ocean around your island. I've already found some cool things like seaweed, a sea star, and even an octopus! It's a great way to earn Bells and add more entries to your Critterpedia. It's amazing how quickly you can start building up your collection again. That initial "Lets Check My CRITTERPEDIA" moment after logging in, maybe even after seeing a quick yellow screen loading, is always a thrill. Every new entry feels like a small victory. What critters have you found recently that you're super proud of?
