That's how my journey into making a DIY broken mug planter began, and honestly, it's one of my favorite upcycled projects to date! It's super satisfying to turn something that seems destined for the trash into a beautiful, functional piece of home decor. Not only is it incredibly eco-friendly, but it also lets you create something truly unique and personal. Forget those generic store-bought planters; yours will tell a story! Ready to give it a try? The Drainage Dilemma (and Solution!): This is crucial for healthy plants. Most coffee mugs don't have drainage holes. If you're feeling handy, you can carefully drill a small hole in the bottom using a ceramic drill bit. Always wear safety goggles and drill slowly with some water to keep it cool. If drilling isn't an option, don't worry! You can add a layer of small pebbles or activated charcoal at the bottom before adding soil.
