New Pasture.

... Read moreClearing land to expand pastures is a rewarding experience that greatly benefits cattle health and overall farm productivity. When I decided to clear more of my land, I focused on balancing natural vegetation preservation with creating ample grazing space. Using a dozer allowed me to efficiently remove unwanted brush and trees, opening up the land while minimizing soil disruption. From my experience, timing is crucial — clearing during dry periods reduces soil compaction and erosion risks. After clearing, it’s important to let the land rest before introducing cattle to allow grasses to recover and grow strong. Implementing rotational grazing on the new pasture ensures that cattle have fresh forage while promoting land regeneration. Additionally, managing weeds and monitoring soil health through testing can improve pasture quality over time. Combining these land management practices helped me create a thriving environment for my cattle, supporting their growth and well-being. Sharing these insights encourages others in the #cattleraising community to enhance their farms thoughtfully and sustainably.

Yeah I need to rent it again next month for another 40 hours. I was so happy with how many things I was able to get done in the first 40 hours. Land clearing and road graded. It was great. Of course that just makes you wanna do more..
