For me, he's definitely up there. His charisma, his powers, and that iconic song "Friends on the Other Side" make him truly memorable. But then you have the classics like Maleficent, Ursula, Scar – they set the bar so high! When I think about what makes a villain 'top tier,' it's usually a combination of several factors. First, their motivation: Is it power, revenge, or just pure evil? Second, their impact on the hero and the story: Do they genuinely pose a threat? Third, their design and personality: Are they visually striking and do they have memorable lines or songs? And finally, their lasting cultural impact. For a tier list, I'd probably start with an S-tier for the absolute legends like Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), Scar (The Lion King), and Ursula (The Little Mermaid). These villains are iconic for a reason; they're terrifying, cunning, and have incredible presence. Then you have your A-tier, which might include Hades (Hercules), Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmatians), and perhaps even Dr. Facilier. They're fantastic, but maybe just a hair below the S-tier in terms of sheer villainy or impact. What about the more recent villains or those from Pixar? Do they fit into the traditional 'Disney villain' archetype? It's a fun debate! I've heard whispers about a live-action movie for Gaston, which is super exciting! Imaging seeing him brought to life with that bravado. He'd definitely make an interesting addition to any villain ranking, perhaps in a B-tier for his sheer arrogance and determination, even if he lacks magical powers. Building a tier list isn't just about who's the scariest; it's also about who's the most entertaining, the most complex, or even the most misunderstood. Some villains you just love to hate!
