You will be your true self

A reminder to all my trans siblings. You will eventually get to be the true you. It may seem like it will take forever or that it will not happen, but it takes patience (unfortunately). It is a long journey but you will get there, it will happen. Try not to fall to despair. There are people cheering for you, who know you can do it, like me! I know you can do it!

(Don’t tell anyone but this pep talk is for me too. I’ve been feeling really low because I’m approaching my 2 year mark but I will post about it another time)

... Read moreAs someone who has walked a long and winding path of self-discovery, I truly resonate with the message that becoming your true self is a journey filled with patience and growth. The reassurance that you are not trapped forever, echoed in the uplifting words to trans masc brothers, helps remind us that evolution is a natural part of life. In my experience, what sustains me during challenging moments—such as approaching milestone markers like the two-year anniversary of significant changes—is the support and cheer from a community that truly believes in you. It’s important to embrace each step, no matter how small, to honor your progress and stay hopeful. The feelings of despair or low moments are natural but can be eased by surrounding yourself with affirming voices and those who share your experience. Engaging with others who understand the unique challenges of being trans or part of the LGBTQ+ community can offer invaluable solidarity and strength. I recommend finding safe spaces, whether online or in-person, where you can express your thoughts and feelings openly without judgment. These communities offer not only emotional support but also practical advice about transitions, mental health, and self-care. Remember, evolving into your authentic self is a beautiful process that involves learning and growing at your own pace. Lastly, celebrating your milestones is crucial—each step forward is a testament to your resilience and courage. Keep reminding yourself, as the original message says, that you will get there. You are growing, you are leaving behind what no longer serves you, and you are blossoming into the true you. This ongoing journey is one of hope, patience, and self-love.
