Sanibel Island Favorites✨🫶

My family has been coming to Sanibel Island since I was a little tot and it’s become one of my favorite places🫶🏼

Located near Ft Myers, this island is the true definition of laid-back island living 🌴

Fun fact: there are NO stoplights on the island!🚦

Since my boyfriend and I moved to Florida a few years ago, we’re now just under 2 hours away so coming to spend time on our favorite island more frequently is so much fun.

There are a handful of hotels/resorts where you can stay for the weekend, but most rentals are condos that are available to rent Saturday-Saturday!

Places to visit:

🌴 Blind Pass Beach

One of the most memorable aspects is the absence of stoplights, which creates a peaceful, unhurried atmosphere perfect for relaxation. When walking through the charming streets, the local shops like Jerry’s Grocery Store offer authentic island flavor and handmade goods. I personally recommend timing your visit to enjoy a sunset at Blind Pass Beach; the calm water and soft sand make it ideal for a peaceful afternoon. If you're a foodie, don't miss dining at Timber’s Restaurant & Fish Market. Their fresh seafood dishes are a highlight, especially their Sanibel Krunch and Gator Stew, which give you a taste of regional flavors. For a casual meal, Cheeburger Cheeburger is a must, loved for its juicy burgers and freshly made onion rings. Afterward, treat yourself to some of the best ice cream at Pinocchio’s — a sweet way to cool down after a day of exploring. Staying on the island can be as relaxing as the activities. Many visitors choose condos for a home-away-from-home feel, often renting on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis, which helps avoid crowds and allows a full week of enjoyment. Hotels and resorts are limited but offer beachfront access and amenities perfect for a short stay. Coffee lovers should pop into Sanibel Sprout, a quaint coffee shop with a cozy vibe, ideal for that morning pick-me-up or a casual meet-up. The island’s community spirit and laid-back living make it easy to unwind and truly enjoy your time. From personal experience, scheduling your trip during the shoulder seasons (spring and fall) ensures fewer tourists and better deals on accommodations. Be sure to bring comfortable beachwear, sun protection, and a camera for all the picturesque moments. Whether it’s lounging on the beach, hunting for shells, or dining on fresh seafood, Sanibel Island is a gem on Florida’s Gulf Coast that keeps visitors coming back.
