Sometimes our people are trees

We’ve got to find our people, our community. Sometimes that which we are deeply connected to and rooted within are in fact trees🫶🏼🌲🫶🏼

Find your trees.

... Read moreYou know that feeling when you're searching for something, someone, a place where you truly belong? I’ve certainly been there, and it wasn’t until recently that I truly understood what the original post meant by 'sometimes our people are trees.' It sounds a little poetic, but I've found it to be incredibly true in my own life. For so long, I was looking for connection in all the usual places – friends, family, online communities. While those are wonderful, there was still a quiet yearning inside me. One day, I decided to just walk into a local forest, not with any particular goal, but just to *be*. As I wandered, I found myself drawn to a massive oak, its textured bark telling stories of decades, maybe even centuries. I leaned against it, felt the cool, rough surface, and for a moment, it was like all the noise in my head just *stopped*. It was then that I truly felt a profound sense of rootedness and peace. It’s more than just pretty scenery; there’s a quiet wisdom in trees. They stand firm, weather storms, and offer shade and life without asking for anything in return. They’re constant, reliable, and deeply connected to the Earth, much like the kind of 'people' we often seek – those who are solid, nurturing, and grounding. If you’re curious about finding your own 'tree people,' here are a few things I’ve tried that have made a huge difference: Mindful Walking (Forest Bathing): It’s not about hiking fast, but slowing down. Pay attention to the rustle of leaves, the scent of damp earth, the light filtering through the canopy. Really see the individual leaves and the varied patterns of the textured bark, like the person in the green cap I saw in an image once, gently connecting. Find Your 'Special' Tree: Just like you have favorite people, you might find a tree that resonates with you. Visit it regularly. Sit beside it, read under it, or simply touch its bark. It creates a ritual, strengthening that unique bond. Engage Your Senses: Close your eyes and listen to the wind through the branches. Gently run your hand over the moss or the rough bark. Breathe in the earthy aroma. This sensory immersion is key to feeling truly present and connected. Reflect and Journal: After spending time with trees, take a moment to write down how you feel. What thoughts came to you? What worries seemed to lessen? This helps solidify the experience and its benefits. I've noticed a significant reduction in stress and a greater sense of calm since I started making this a regular practice. It's a reminder that connection comes in many forms, and sometimes, the most silent companions offer the deepest solace and a profound sense of belonging. So, go out there, find your forest, and discover your own 'tree people.' You might be surprised at how much they have to offer.

Are Boundaries Biblical???
In studying God's relentless pursuit of us (His Beloved!) throughout the Bible, we see that God often confronts our comfort zones to win us back. If we're called to model God's pursuit of us as we pursue others, does this give us divine license to steamroll others in the name of Jesus?
